Meeting California's Long-Term Water Infastructure Needs
Gov. Schwarzenegger has made improving and securing
California's water infrastructure a top priority because
our growing population, current drought, court imposed
limitations on water flows from the Delta and global
warming all threaten the long-term sufficiency and viability of our state's water
supply.
California’s water system is outdated and straining to meet the
needs of our economy, families, farms and business.
That is why Gov. Schwarzenegger worked with a broad
coalition of environmental leaders, business and labor
groups, farmers and water agencies to put The Safe, Clean, and Reliable Drinking Water Supply
Act of 2010 on the November ballot to help solve this critical
issue. The Safe, Clean, and Reliable Drinking Water
Supply Act of 2010 will provide funding to repair what is broken with
California's water system and is vitally needed to
restore and improve our water system. This issue must
be addressed this year because our state is facing
a serious drought and Californians need a safe and
reliable water supply.
